20 December 2002 - Match Card Crisis Just as we think we're going somewhere this season, we have been haunted again by the dreaded match card. We are facing allegations, that two of our players printed their name on the match cards as opposed to signing their names. This seems hard to believe as these two players have never had any such problems before. What is even more strange is that two players have allegedly done this. The players in question are: Matthew Blackmore and Kirk Dillen. Now if these players aren't genuine, we wouldn't mention their names on this website. We are naturally appealing and it is only at the hearing t.b.c. that we can comment further on the allegations. Unfortunately it seems that signing a match card takes precedence over results. This is obviously very frustrating for us, giving the fact that this was a very good result (4-3) and that such rules should prevent clubs from playing illegible players and we are not guilty of this. Any update on this situation, will appear here. |
